Burda Dress 117A

I made this dress using the pattern from the May 2009 issue of Burda World of Fashion. The pattern is dress 117A. I used an amazing [thick] stretch cotton from Britex in San Francisco. I was heartbroken when they said they wouldn't ever get any more of this fabric.

  2. The dress looks fabulous on you! Fits you like a glove - that must say a lot about your sewing.

Thanks for the advice on the Simplicity pattern. Hopefully I can pull it off! Oh, and it turned out beautifully.

  4. Beautiful blog. It is funny the photos you posted were all things I have loved from browsing around. As for places to shop in Utah. Sadly, there isn't much. My go to store lately is Stitching Corner. They do have silks, wool, linen, I think, and great quilting fabrics. They also have silk ribbon and other finer things. Another store I used to go to was fashion Affair. Sadly, it closed. I did hear that someone opened another one at the same place. If this is true, it is worth checking out. It is on 3300 South in Salt Lake, about four blocks West of REI on the South side of the street. It is a little house set back just a bit. Good Luck and let me know if this is true or a rumor. Quilting fabric is another story. Utah has a lot of great stuff. I like the Corn Wagon in Springville.
